[PoE 2] ๐Ÿน Stormcaller Arrow + Tornado Shot Bow โ€” Gemling Legionnaire Build Guide (Part 4/5, 0.5.4)

This Stormcaller Arrow + Tornado Shot build turns the shared Gemling Legionnaire core from Part 1 into a Bow setup that clears entire packs by feeding its own arrows into a planted Tornado. If you haven’t built the shared foundation yet, start with Part 1 โ€” the All-in-One Build Guide.

๐Ÿ“Œ 1. Stormcaller Arrow + Tornado Shot Build Overview & Mechanics

1. Stormcaller Arrow + Tornado Shot combo

  • Stormcaller ArrowStormcaller Arrow is the main skill โ€” it embeds an arrow, then a Lightning Bolt detonates it a moment later with a high chance to Shock. Its Quality line adds up to 2 extra Projectiles per cast, so on its own it already fires a solid volley forward. Tornado ShotTornado Shot is what turns that forward-only volley into a screen-wide clear: it plants a stationary Tornado, and any of your own arrows (including Stormcaller Arrow’s) that fly into it get sucked in and spat back out as a ring of copied Projectiles. Because this build’s shared core already invests in Area of Effect, that spreading nova covers an especially wide radius.

2. Defense: no Shield, Magma Barrier swapped out

  • This variant carries a Bow instead of a Mace and Shield, so the Shield-dependent Magma Barrier Spirit skill is out. In its place: Charge Regulation, which instead scales off whatever charges you’re holding โ€” bonus Critical Hit Chance while a Power Charge is up, bonus Armour/Evasion/Energy Shield while an Endurance Charge is up, and bonus Skill Speed while a Frenzy Charge is up, consuming one of each charge every 10 seconds.

3. Passive tree: Giant’s Blood out, Bow nodes in

  • Dropping the Mace means Giant’s Blood is no longer needed, freeing up exactly 3 points. Those 3 points move into Bow-specific damage and accuracy nodes, plus a node that extends “increased/decreased Projectile Speed” coverage to Bows as well โ€” that’s the entire passive change for this variant.
    Stormcaller Arrow build passive tree

4. Attributes: Strength into Dexterity, the rest into Intelligence

  • The Mace variants sink a lot of points into Strength for Giant’s Blood; here that Strength gets reallocated into Dexterity instead, since Bows require it. Once Strength and Dexterity are balanced for your weapon and gems, every leftover attribute point goes into Intelligence โ€” a bigger Mana pool means better Mana sustain for near-constant Stormcaller Arrow uptime.

5. Optional: trade Chill immunity for hunting speed

  • This is a run-and-gun Bow build, so there’s a real choice to make: swapping the shared build’s 4 Intelligence-tagged filler skill gems (from Part 1) for green, Dexterity-tagged fillers instead grants “40% reduced Movement Speed penalty while using a skill while moving” โ€” noticeably faster hunting โ€” but it breaks the Intelligence-colour-majority interaction that grants innate Chill/Freeze immunity. The default here keeps the Intelligence fillers and the Chill immunity; players who’d rather have the speed can make that swap and reinvest the freed points into flat Attack Damage nodes instead.

6. Hunting routine

  • Simple loop: hold down Stormcaller Arrow and let it carry the clear. Tornado Shot only comes out in specific tight or enclosed spaces, where planting it and standing still lets your own arrows feed it into that wide copied-projectile spread. Pop Pinnacle of Power off the secondary weapon set whenever Power Charges are full. Bosses go down to Stormcaller Arrow alone โ€” Tornado Shot isn’t needed for single-target.

๐Ÿ“Š 2. Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • About as low-effort as clearing gets โ€” hold down one button and Stormcaller Arrow’s own Quality-granted extra Projectiles do most of the work.
  • Tornado Shot turns a forward-only skill into a genuine screen-wide clear tool in the right spaces, without needing to learn a second main skill.
  • Stormcaller Arrow alone is strong enough to kill bosses โ€” no combo execution required for single-target.

Cons:

  • You have to pick a lane between hunting speed and safety: keeping the shared build’s Chill/Freeze immunity means giving up the movement-speed-penalty reduction, and vice versa.
  • Tornado Shot is situational rather than a true second clear skill โ€” in open areas it mostly just sits in your skill bar unused.

๐ŸŽ’ 3. Gear & Gem Setup

Everything here โ€” passives, ascendancy, the Shared Jewels, and the Projectile-skill-level Gloves/Amulet pair โ€” is identical to the core build in Part 1, and shared with Part 2’s Molten Blast variant as well. Only the weapon, quiver, and one Spirit skill change for this Stormcaller Arrow variant.

Core Unique Items:

  • Vengeance Wing (Obliterator Bow) โ€” the signature weapon here: Bow Attacks fire an additional Arrow as an innate Bonded modifier, plus a chance to gain an extra random Charge whenever you gain one, stacked on heavy flat and increased Physical Damage. Corruption doesn’t matter for this one โ€” when shopping the trade market, just buy whichever copy (corrupted or not) has the rolls you need.
  • Foe Nails (Visceral Quiver) โ€” stacks more “chance to fire an additional Arrow,” Projectile Speed, and flat Cold damage on top of the bow’s own lines.

Gear by Slot (changes from Part 1):

  • Weapon: Vengeance Wing (Obliterator Bow), on the main weapon set โ€” no Shield paired with it. One of its 4 rune sockets carries the Saqawal’s Rune of the Sky needed for the shared weapon-swap trick.
  • Quiver: Foe Nails (Visceral Quiver) โ€” a slot the Mace variants simply don’t have.
  • Spirit skill: Magma Barrier is out (no Shield to imbue); Charge Regulation takes its place.

    Cost: (7โ€“50) Mana

    Attack Speed: 80% of base

    Attack Damage: (20โ€“62)% of base

Fire an arrow that embeds where it lands for a short duration. At the end of the duration, a Lightning Bolt strikes the arrow, disintegrating it and damaging enemies, with a high chance to Shock. Shocking any enemy with the Bolt also applies Shock to all enemies near the impact.

Converts 80% of Physical damage to Lightning damage

    Arrow duration is 1.5 seconds

Additional Effects From Quality:(0โ€“30)% increased Shock Duration

Where this Stormcaller Arrow build came from, and where to see it in action.

๐Ÿ’ฌ 6. Author’s Notes

  • Investment & Time Cost: Shares the same core gear as Part 1 โ€” just a Bow (Vengeance Wing) and Quiver (Foe Nails), a Projectile-skill-level Gloves/Amulet pair, and a Charge Regulation gem in place of Magma Barrier.
  • In-Game Performance: Extremely simple to pilot โ€” Stormcaller Arrow alone clears packs and kills bosses, with Tornado Shot as a situational screen-wide option in tighter spaces.
  • Survivability & Room to Upgrade: Trades the Shield’s Block layer for Charge Regulation’s charge-based buffs. The main tuning knob left is the Chill/Freeze immunity vs. movement-speed-penalty trade-off covered in Section 1.
